1. Can I sell or transfer my property if my Title Deeds are lost, stolen, destroyed or damaged?
Yes. This is done by way of Title Deed restoration. You will be required to make an application, supported by affidavit and other relevant documentation, to the Registrar of Titles to have the Deed(s) restored. This process may take an estimated 90 days.
2. Can I buy property in Barbados if I am a non-resident?
Yes. However, you will be required to obtain permission from the Exchange Control Authority of the Central Bank of Barbados before purchasing the property.
3. What are my expenses as a vendor for the transfer of property?
To complete the transfer, a vendor is required to pay Property Transfer Tax and Stamp Duty.
